This week we began Homework. Yesterday we sent home four math home links. Having your child do all the homework in one day is not encouraged. Instead, develop a routine by setting a specific time and place each day for your child to complete the homework which should take no more than 20 minutes.
Within the homework there is a Unit 1 Family Letter for the math home links. This letter will give you a brief overview of our first math unit. Keep this letter at home. As for the homework, parents may need to read the instructions for each home link but students can complete most of the math work on their own. It's okay if they make mistakes.
If your child is struggling with their homework, please write me a note and we can make an adjustment.
The reading homework will start next week as they are continuing to practice choosing just right books. They will also begin recording what books they take home in order to develop responsibility and respect for our classroom library.
This week also includes a brief parent survey to help me get to know your child better. Thank you in advance for filling it out.
The math home links needs to be returned Friday morning.
Please have your child pack their own bag so they know what's in it. Thanks!
