Magnet Fair

The Magnet Fair was a huge success.  5 parent volunteers ran various magnet centers which the students rotated through.  Students needed to identify whether or not the magnets were attracting or repelling and explain what was happening.  If you would like to volunteer for the Inventor's Workshop, there are spots still available!

The magnet attracted the paper clip on the boat which made it move.

The magnet on the bee was attracted to the magnet on the flower.

The frog bounced because the magnet inside repelled the magnet on the base.

Magnets are important because they can move.

The wand in the magnet repelled the magnet in the car.

The paper clip kites were attracted to the magnet behind the cloud.

Learning about where magnets can be fun.

Parent volunteers helped guide our learning.

Racing.
Boat races.

Scientists document their learning.

Working together.

Why do magnets repel?
Why do magnets attract?

Like poles repel.  Like poles attract.

Three cheers for volunteers!
