Literacy: The next unit in writing is called Non-Fiction Chapter Books. Students will be learning how to write teaching books on topics that they are experts in. For their pre-assessment in in this unit, students are asked to bring in items about the topic they are experts in. Items may be a toy, photo, book, miniature or model. Items will be used on Wednesday.
Math: Students will continue adding and subtracting up to 20, telling time to the half hour, and counting pennies, nickels, and dimes. Students will be introduced to patterns in numbers through Frames and Arrows.
Science: Students will begin new unit called Living Things which focuses primarily on plants. The essential questions for this unit are: How do scientists study plants? How do plants meet their needs? How do plants grow and change?
Social Studies: Students will be reflecting upon their learning and practicing for Student Led Conferences.
Portuguese: Os alunos começaram a escrever seus relatos pessoais em Português e continuarão na próxima semana.
