Visiting Poets

Last week students had fun learning about poetry and how to start writing poems at the assembly. They got to meet our visiting Poets: Sara Holbrook and Michael Salinger.

This week we learned about refrain in poems and using questioning. Refrain is repeating a word or phrase over and over in a poem. The students worked with Sara to create a poem and then made one with a partner. It was a wonderful experience for the students.
