What's Going on in First Grade? November 11th Curricular Update

Social Studies: Students are learning about community helpers by taking a school tour and discovering more about the people who work here and why they are important.

Science: Students are learning about the parts of a plant (roots, stem, leaves, flower, seeds) and the life cycle of a plant.  Already students have learned that a seeds need heat and water to sprout a little root.

Language Arts: Students will continue to read and write non -fiction books in school. A great resource for non-fiction books on your child's reading level is RAZ Kids. Please encourage them to log in from home and look for non-fiction titles and answer the quiz at the end of the book.



Math: Students are learning to measure length, width and height in feet and inches.  Students are also learning to tell time to the quarter hour.

Portuguese:  Estamos continuando com o resgate de cantigas, parlendas e brincadeiras tradicionais para propiciar momentos divertidos e significativos que propiciem às crianças se apropriar da escrita em Português. Nosso foco nas semananas que será "1,2, feijão com arroz" e "Caranguejo". compartilhe com seu filho(a) brincadeiras, cantigas e parlendas da sua infância.
