Welcome to Third Grade!

Welcome back Graded Eagles!

On Academics...

As we remember to soar to success following the Eagle Way, we will work on many projects. In math, we will study basic multiplication and division.  We will also explore fractions and decimals.  Studying rocks and minerals will be our first unit in science.  In writing, we will work on personal narratives. We will begin the year reading longer and more complex chapter books and working on reading independently for extended periods of time. In social studies, we will learn about why people move to new countries.

On Learning Habits...

As you grow this year you come to understand how your habits of learning impact your success. As a third grader, you are asked to be ready to learn and take responsibility for your own growth. We will learn to work both as an individual and as a  member of a team.  Your teachers will help you to understand all of the classroom procedures and rules during the first week of school and look forward to finding ways to capture your interest and challenge you in new ways.

Your parents can help you this year by making sure you arrive at school on time and that you are well rested. They can support you with with ideas and materials for school projects.  Reading the blog posts is a great way to know what we are working on in class. Your parents will also be invited to several school events during the school year.
