Aside from supporting a consistent homework routine, the most valuable thing we can do is make the everyday thinking we take for granted visible to the children. For example, we do so much mathematical thinking without even realising it! Here is a wonderful website that has a lot of activities that support everyday mathematical thinking. Making that thinking visible and including children in this thinking not only enrich their math skills, but also provide opportunities to converse and interact!
