Language Arts
In reading and writing, students have been applying their comprehension strategies to write summaries for nonfiction texts that include only the main ideas and supporting details. As readers, they continue to stop while reading to check their understanding and to jot down ideas, questions and connections.
Students will be challenged to read even more critically as we begin our next science unit on Animals. As researchers, they will need to gather and combine information about many subtopics related to animals. Students will complete their research to write informational pieces. Look forward to hearing about our next published piece!
Math
In math we will introduce MULTIPLICATION and DIVISION through problems that involve equal sharing and equal grouping.
Science
The next science unit is on animals. Here is a link of the available online resources and library books that explain key concepts and vocabulary. If watching one of the Brainpop videos, username is graded2, password is graded.
