PAL students have been busy at work, dedicating themselves to the last part of
their Viagens pelo Mundo project. After having researched about a place they'd visited,
creating a presentation about it and carrying out the presentations in Portuguese
to 4thgraders from D.Lu's class, they are now studying trip reports and working on
reproducing this genre's features when writing their own texts. At the same time, we
have been practicing the Simple Past verb forms in Portuguese, so that
students make sense of its usage. We hope to soon make these texts available on
the students' blogs.
At the same time, we have been looking at some reading strategies to
help students become independent readers in Portuguese ,
as well as learning to recognize which books to choose according to
their proficiency level in the language.
