Vocês estão de Volta!!!!

(You're back!)

After some restful time, it is great to have you all back! 

And with a lot going on in D.Nati's Pal's class!

    We began the year concentrating on POETRY, the genre  that

4th graders will use to take part in the Vivas Palavras 2020 contest:

Novice students will write visual poems and Intermediate students
will write free verse poems.

This is an ongoing practice meant to prepare students
to create original work, when faced with the unexpected theme
of the Vivas Palavras contest.
For students to be successful, we are practicing
by writing using the themes from the previous
Vivas Palavras contests, as follows:

Mundos Fantásticos, 2019; 

Transforamação, 2018;

Imigração, 2017;

São Paulo, 2016;

Arrependimento, 2015;

Medi, 2014;

Uma carta especial, 2013;

Competição, 2012;

      You can help your child prepare by brainstorming with him/her

words related to each theme.

     Starting on Monday, February 3rd, D.Nati's PAL 4 students will use PAL textbooks in classes

to keep learning Portuguese.

We will use the series Vamos Falar Português 1 , by Susanna Florissi and Anna Claudia Ramos

for Intermediate level students, and the serie Timi1

for the Novice level students.

   

    These books will be checked out from our school's catalog and

the students will be responsible for them until the end of the school year

when the books are to be returned to the school.

We are all very excited to offer these new learning resources,

and to contribute to students responsible care of school's property.
