We have just started Module 4. This new unit introduces points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles, as well as the relationships between them. Students construct, recognize, and define these geometric objects before using their new knowledge and understanding to classify figures and solve problems. Don't forget to keep practicing those multiplication and division facts and strategies! They'll be back soon.
Informational Reading and Writing
In literacy we are moving on to reading our own choice non-fiction topic books and launching our informational writing reports. This is the first time this school year students have been given the privilege to have self selected choice on what they want to read and write about in a nonfiction book. It is super exciting! The topics range from Star Wars to Platypuses! Remember students should be reading a minimum of 30 minutes per day for homework.
Trade and Economy
We are just getting started on creating, producing, and driving our ideas and plans for the 4th Grade Annual Marketplace Project! Students will be responsible for working with their business partners over the next three weeks preparing the goods or services that their Graded consumers are demanding. We will be conducting market research and surveys, studying factors that affect supply and demand, and understanding the ever changing global economy. Students will need to meet with their partners over weekends to be successful in planning and preparing.
Our field trip to Santos is coming up on March 24, so don't forget to complete and send back the permission slip and forms!
