Grade 4 Curriculum Update for the Week of April 22

Reading	Having launched our book club/author study unit, we will spend this week reading and analyzing the Patricia Polacco story: Thank You Mr. Falker.
Writing	Building up to our writing of a Literary Essay, students will be note taking and brainstorming by selecting beloved texts, asking questions of it and examining the characters with the goal of building evidence for a big thesis.
Math	Students will be continuing with their Module 5 unit on Fractions. This week we transition into Topic B where we will examine fraction equivalence using multiplication and division.
Science	Switching from Social Studies to Science, students will explore the question ‘What Is Energy?’ using a variety of Brainpop activities.
