Welcome!

Dear Families,

Tomorrow, we begin our year long journey together!  I have been at school getting ready and I am excited to get started!

This blog will be an important tool for communication throughout the year.  Please be sure to check the blog regularly as it is the method in which the lower school communicates with all families about important information and the learning taking place in our classrooms (curricular news, important dates, home learning opportunities, etc.)

Starting tomorrow, students should bring their backpacks and a water bottle.  The water bottle can be kept at school during the week and then will be sent home every Friday.  Please ensure that all these items are clearly labeled with your child's name.

Please take note that our day starts at 8:00 AM. Please ensure that your child arrives on time.

Students check out books from the library every Wednesday. Please make sure library books are returned on Tuesday or Wednesday.   PE is on Tuesday and Thursday.  Please ensure that your child wears running shoes.

I will be sending a “Take Home” folder with students at the end of the day tomorrow. It will include a welcome letter, specials schedule, handwriting alphabet, survey of your child, monthly calendar, and a book that we read in class to read at home. Please help students take care of the folder as I will eventually send homework and student work throughout the year.

Please feel free to e-mail me anytime (shannon.keane@graded.br) with comments, questions, concerns, or to set up a meeting.   There will be an Open House on Thursday, August 25 at 7:00PM where the first grade program will be discussed in greater detail.

Letter from the PE Teachers:

Welcome to Graded!
We are really excited about another year with your children.
Please remember that on PE days (twice a week), students should wear tennis shoes ( no sandals, no crocs and no boots), sports clothing ( sweat pants, t shirts) and girls with long hair should have it tied. It is for their own safety.
Let's have a fun year, full of new and exciting activities!!!
Thank you,

Andrea, Enrico and Gisela
