How Do Scientists Write?

Today students began our science unit on Balance and Motion.  Using a cutout of a crayfish, students tried to balance it several ways with and without counterweights.

In writing, students are learning how to write like a scientist by using the scientific process.  So far students have learned that a scientist writes a question and lists materials.

Without weights.

Finding the middle.

Easier said than done.

Horizontal.

Adding counterweights.

More than one way!

Super scientists.

Multiple attempts.

More than one way.

Vertical!

Balancing it vertically was tough.

Practice makes perfect.
